I had a nice visit with my three friends. We spent a delightful day eating, talking, laughing and planning ahead. They arrived at 9:30, and the last to leave departed at about 4:45. The food turned out well, and they all loved their gifts--or said they did, anyway. Conversation was continuous (can you imagine four women getting together and sitting in silence for lack of things to say?? Boggles the mind!) and by turns serious or silly.
Sue and I decided to combine the ornament and cookie exchanges this year and have the date set for December 2nd. We will host it here at Zoe Cottage, and I am looking forward to decorating for Christmas in a new place. As they were leaving everyone said, "This was fun, let's do it again next year." So, I guess our quarterly birthday plans are not to be.
