Weekend in Review: Elated and Grateful!

I can't believe how much we got done this weekend, and without help from Elizabeth, Michael and Jeff, we would not be nearly as far ahead.  They came over on Saturday at about noon and brought lunch--big time saver, right there!

Saturday:
Jeff:
  • changed out the toilet seat in hall bath
  • put the first coat of sealer on the grout in the master bath
  • helped put up the water heater closet door
  • worked with Michael to take down the last of the gutter
  • worked with Michael to trim trees in the back yard
Michael:
  • put back switch plate covers in the bedrooms
  • repaired the desk in the blue room
  • worked with Jeff on the gutter and tree trimming

Elizabeth
  • painted all the new baseboards where they had been caulked over nail holes
  • put sealer on the last wall in the hall bathroom shower and the second coat on the master bathroom grout
  • painted the face of the desk in the "blue" room and some of the baseboards in that room
Ornery
  • caulked around the green room ceiling and floor
  • repaired the bathroom door so it would close (had to use his new power planer to shave about 1/4 inch off!)
  • lowered the strike plate on the green room door so it would close properly
  • cut both bedrooms with the Hopsack color paint
I just painted and cleaned.  I put the second coat on the blue room, making it officially NOT blue anymore! I painted the desk in the green room and all the drawers for both rooms, painted the upper level cut work in the green room and wandered through the house with paint and brush with both colors and did touch up. I also did some clean up.  When we left on Saturday we were in awe of how close we were to being done inside!

Sunday:

It was just Ornery and me working today, with the goal of having the place ready to show by Monday morning. We made it.

Ornery
  • painted the baseboards in the green room
  • caulked in the kitchen
  • cut the trim for the tiles above the stove
  • repaired a drawer
  • painted part of the kitchen
  • took lots of pictures
  • packed and hauled home two pick-up loads of tools and stuff
  • did some assorted other tasks
I
  • cleaned the whole house--vacuumed, cleaned mini blinds, bathrooms, windows, etc.
  • painted in the kitchen
So why am I so tired??!  Anyway, here are some before and after shots:

There are many more photos, but blogger and I are having a discussion about the length of time it is taking for them to load.  For the before photos, you can click on this link to go to our first post about 507.

We still have to paint the garage and the exterior, and there are a number of nit-picky things to do inside but none will detract from the viewing.  It feels so good to have the inside finished we are taking Monday off--to mow our lawn at home! :P

    1. Thank you, Hilary! I am glad for the lawn as well. We have had copious amounts of rain and it is looking like a jungle out there ... especially compared to our neighbors.

  2. Taking it off to mow the lawn, yuck haha sounds like a ton of work done, and many hands make light work indeed, must feel nice to have it mostly done too.
