While waiting for my second Craigslist buyer this week to arrive, I spent some time yesterday switching things up a little bit on my blog. Having spent so MUCH time the last few weeks with a paint brush or roller in my hands I thought this new theme was appropriate.
I mentioned last week that I had listed a juicer on Craigslist and I finally had a buyer from out of town who was driving through on her way to an Arkansas vacation. She arrived Tuesday at around 11:00. My success inspired me to list a couple more items I have been toting around but not using, and someone replied to one of the ads that afternoon.
I have many other things to list, but finding time to get pictures and arrange for meetings has been somewhat of a challenge. I had thought I might participate in our neighborhood garage sale May 18th, but Ornery nixed that idea right out of the chute! Looks like some worthy organization will get a windfall later in the summer!
i always mean to put some stuff up for sale but i never get organised, at least ya down one juicer!
ReplyDeleteI like the new theme, very colourful!
Thanks! I am a colorful kinda gal. :)
DeletePeople selling on it here meet up and have gotten sprayed with mace, then their stuff taken, so beware haha nice new background too.
ReplyDeleteThat is awful! I have never even felt uncomfortable with any of my transactions. I have made many sales and purchases on Craigslist but not things that might attract thugs. ;)
DeleteI usually make sure Ornery is around at sale time and usually send him to pick up purchases. It is very thoughtful of you to warn me. Already we are friends!

The spouse doesn't like having strangers come to the house. Ever since we were robbed last year, he is much more security consious. Craigslist is noted for its scams and we had several opportuntities to be scammed when we were searching for a new RV. It's a shame that this is the reality of our culture now.
ReplyDeleteI can certainly understand his hesitation. We were only robbed once over 30 years ago, but I still have little skittish thoughts when things don't look just right.
DeleteSo far, so good as far as the scams. My husband has purchased several of his tools from Craigslist and gotten great deals. We do live in a relatively safe area.
Our town is one of the safest in the state--all the religious influence, I suppose. There is a huge Bible College about two miles away that brings in people from all over the world. Many stay, and are for the most part really good neighbors.
