I mentioned in a previous post about the robin family I enjoyed watching last weekend when I was supposed to be working at 507. I have never had the opportunity to watch a whole family of birds like that before, and at one point was surprised to see the youngster throwing what appeared to be a tantrum to get some food. He threw himself down on the ground and flapped his wings, cheep-cheeping furiously right in front of his parent who was gathering bugs and worms. As soon as the parent dropped some food into the youngster's mouth it shut up. I shared the story with Ornery (who was actually working at the time) and he thought it was pretty funny.
Well, Tuesday night he wandered into the library where I was reading some blogs and sat down in his desk chair. He looked at me and said, "I don't know what you are planning for dinner, but I would sure appreciate if it was soon."
My reply, "I thought you were going to have leftovers from lunch."
"Well, yeah, that would be fine." .... pause.... still looking directly at me.
"What am I, the food heating master or something?" At this point I had gotten up from my desk and was stalking toward him with menace on my face.
Then he did something to dispel my playful anger. He scrunched down in his chair, put on a cheesy grin and said, "Cheep, cheep!" followed by tipping back his head with his mouth wide open.
Goofball. Of course I had to laugh and went promptly to fix his food.
When I got home from the grocery store the other day and opened the door, I was greeted at the door not only by my dogs furiously wagging their rearends waiting for the 'mommy just got home snack', but my fiance' doing the same thing....lmao
