I was really disappointed that I didn't get any mail in the box Friday except one RTS address undeliverable--I figured surely someone would have written by now! I did get a letter from my niece on Saturday, though, so that was really nice. :) It arrived with the two return address stamps I ordered with the PO Box address on them. One has my name, the other has our business name on it. Both were perfect and just what I wanted!
Saturday morning Ornery and I stopped at two post offices before I got the postage I needed, then went to Hobby Lobby. My goal was to purchase some sleeves for Artist Trading Cards (ATC's) and some tags. I got all that and more...of course! They had clearance priced several styles of ATC's and the price was too good to pass up, so I bought them all. I also got some new stencils, a few packages of flowers, some tags, and a Bristol art pad.
Our next stop was Staples, where I needed to find some Rolodex cards, internet shipping labels for printing postage, and Washi tape. Scored on all three things. :) We stopped by Chipotle on our way home. After lunch I adjourned to my studio where I made several things (see design blog) and Ornery went to Lowe's to buy the materials to build a spice shelf unit for Elizabeth.
He spent the rest of the day working on her shelves while I crafted, and then crafted some more! My goal was to have all my ATC's, tag, and special orders finished by Sunday night so I could mail things on Monday.
We did get a few household chores done Sunday morning, then Ornery worked on the shelves and I made a special order custom card and started on my next ATC project. Michael and Elizabeth came by to borrow the chain saw to cut up the limbs that fell during the storm that took everyone's electricity out.
By the time I stopped crafting for the day, the whole room looked like a hurricane had swept through and I could hardly see the surface of my table or move my chair in any direction for all the detritus on the floor. I didn't get everything finished I had hoped to, but the most important tasks are done and they will go out in the mail in the morning.
I have three more swaps due to go out this week, and a private swap in the offing once I no longer have five on my plate. The bot won't let you sign up for more than five at a time. :( Other than the crafting, I need to spend a bit of time catching up with the books and laundry, and I need to write my niece back. I rediscovered some old ledger paper that I think might make some fun stationary...
Picture please!
ReplyDeleteI posted the ATC's and tag on my design blog, the shelves aren't finished yet so I haven't taken any pictures of that yet. Hopefully I remember once it is done! :)
DeleteI wouldn't know how to act if I got a letter! Lord, it sure would be nice to get something, anything besides bills!
