So Much for Journaling...

Yesterday was a crazy day! There were a lot of last minute chores for the closing (paying inspections, arranging insurance, etc.) and Elizabeth came by before work and for lunch, adding to my list of things to take care of.  One of the things I wanted to do was look for some "Empty Nest" blogs, since that seems to be my lot in life right now, so I did some searching with my friend Mr. Google.  I will be adding more links on the sidebar as I discover spots I want to revisit. There are not as many active blogs as one would think at first glance.

One blog led me to a challenge for the month of April, so it looks like it will be similar to NaBloPoMo in that every day will have a post that month.  I intend to use the Sundays off from the A to Z challenge to do my weekend in review posts. Actually, they may end up being more a "week in review" instead of just the weekend.  Of course I already have all the posts scheduled and titled, now I just need to get busy writing them--and there are going to be some awesome posts!

Today I had a few leftover chores to deal with since we ended up changing insurance companies and there are always questions.  Laundry and some housework are also on the to-do list, although the laundry is almost done and the housework seems to always be able to slip into the "some other time" folder...

I will finally go at lunch to pick up my new glasses! I am a little nervous that they won't be as good as my current prescription since my eyes were still a little fuzzy from the dry eye when I ordered the new ones and I can see so well with this Rx since they have healed. Here's hoping they are good, because my old frames are causing some weird skin condition right beneath the frame.

Other than a huge (for us) tax bill (blech) and stressing over all the little unfamiliar details for the closing, I think life is going pretty well here.  Ornery is working overtime this weekend so he will feel a bit freer to take some time off later to work on the rental property.  It seems like a daunting job, and now with less funds (due to the IRS) we will have to be really careful with where we put our repair dollars. I am still looking forward to the project, though.  I need something to sink my teeth into, and there is nothing to make my heart as happy as making something pretty!

  1. Sounds like you are really organized which is quite impressive! Hope your new glasses are helpful, and good luck at the closing.
