Gettin' it Done

With just one or two more days to have CW here to help, Ornery has been slightly panicked at having so many things left on his list, but each day more things get finished.  Today, CW grouted the tile,

and helped Ornery work on getting rid of the squirrelly looking curlicue trim above the kitchen sink,

and fix the kick-plate under the sink (where they discovered an abandoned pack-rat's nest and a bucket full of dirt!)

It's not a very good photo, but you can see the hole for the vent which is inside the cabinet at the moment.  The top of the board didn't fit quite right, so Ornery tried out Durham's Rock Hard Water Putty.  He likes it better than Bondo as it is easier to use--and mixes with water.  He filled all sorts of things while he was at it.

Ornery also managed to take out the cabinets in the bathroom, but with them came the soffit above, (which I was secretly hoping would happen) so the room feels much bigger.

We took over the new light fixture and measured the area for the mirror I have to put up in there.  The room still has a LOT of work before it is finished, but wow! The difference is amazing already!  I just can't wait to see it finished!
