So sad.

I know the title makes it sound like there was a major calamity in my life. Well, it isn't earth shattering, but my favorite pair of mules disintegrated yesterday. The rubber sole (which makes them the most comfortable shoes on the planet) crumbled away at the stitching. The tops are still serviceable, and the soles are still in good shape, they just no longer want to be together--like a messy divorce! :(

In other news, the inquiry yesterday (that I spent the entire day chasing parts down for) is apparently going to materialize into a sale. I never heard from her yesterday, but she messaged me today to say she had pneumonia and had not been back on the computer.  I will start on them this afternoon.

I did accomplish a lot on my craft store shopping extravaganza!  Besides buying parts for her ornaments, I bought supplies to
  • transform a faux mercury glass dollar store cake stand and an old paper back book into a lovely centerpiece
  • create a cute candle ring to adorn the base of a faux mercury glass hurricane lamp
  • make adorable hard cover cookie cookbooks for the exchange participants
Ornery always expects to be drawn in on this annual venture, and I didn't want to disappoint him, so he will get to use two saws for me this weekend. :)

Hopefully the weekend will be filled with some fun stuff. I am editing in the mornings today and tomorrow, but Saturday I hope to get the light and shower head in the guest bathroom replaced, which means I will need to do a little painting in there. I'm thinking purple and light turquoise sounds nice. It is currently a rather ugly taupe color and very dark. I am only going to paint the area around the light fixture for now, and wait until we get the door closed off to do the rest.
