Job Offer

A friend called me yesterday and asked me if I would come help her and her husband get their lives organized.  She prefaced the offer with "You are the most organized person I know."  They said, "Name your price!" When I told them that a professional organizer gets $55.00 per hour, they choked. So, since they are friends, I offered to help them get started at whatever they could pay, and show them my system of how to determine whether or not to keep things.

I have had a few people tell me that I get in their head, and when they are confronted with an overwhelming task they ask themselves, "What would Tracy do?" I told my friend this and said, "Hopefully I will be able to instill that in you until you develop your own system so you can take care of most of it yourselves. Unless you learn some new habits, your money having me do it will be wasted."

I have my first session coming right up, so we'll see the magnitude of the "problem" as well as how complicated the solution is. They have company coming this weekend, and they want to get things underway, but don't have a lot of time to work on it. Years of accumulation don't go away in a few hours, but I know that sometimes all you need to have is someone there to encourage you to let go of things.
