I tried two new recipes for lunch yesterday and both were successful. I like it when that happens! I will tweak both of them a bit--not sure why anyone would need to bake flattened chicken breasts for a whole hour--but otherwise, they are keepers. I noted the changes on the recipe blog. (Carrot Bread and Lemon Glazed Chicken)
Besides cooking and chopping up all the chicken in the world and washing several sink-loads of dishes, I mailed off a package of caramels to a blogger I met during the A to Z Challenge, wrote three letters, finished a book I was reading and started another, did the laundry including sheets and towels, and had a delightful visit with my plants early in the morning. It was a gorgeous morning to be out on the patio and I took full advantage of the sweet smelling cool air and planted some basil and dill Elizabeth brought over. The purple petunias have just the right amount of fragrance--not too heady but just sweet enough to give a whiff every so often.
When Ornery got home from work he hauled the XL Twin bed frame out to the garage to finish it off. He was not so successful with his project and was met with one difficulty after another--wrong cuts on the plywood, couldn't figure out how to finish the front so it would open right and look good (we decided to just close it off and forget about storage), and the batteries on his nail gun were dead, dead, dead; one just needed charging, but the other won't charge anymore. Bummer--those dudes are spendy!
I still have a couple hours of cooking to do today, but I hope to also get the bathrooms cleaned up and (finally) get started in the library! Not sure why I have procrastinated so long on that one, but I am finally peppy and motivated at the same time, so it might actually get done! We hope to get the whole shuffle-the-beds thing done this weekend, so I need to get things rolling!
carrot bread...mh sounds good! Gawd you were super busy. I hope the bed will turn out well even after all the setbacks.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are keeping busy!! Maybe they suggest flattening out the chicken breasts so it cooks more evenly and faster?? Just a thought. I have never pounded mine flat.. LOL I just cook it as is.
