Friday night Ornery got the floor done to the end of the tub. Elizabeth and I worked on the latest shawl on the loom--a lovely combination of cream and variegated brown.
Saturday everyone except yours truly woke up very s-l-o-w-l-y. We got to Panera at 8:30 after the crew decided to skip the aviation work day. While we were eating breakfast we decided to invite Ornery's mom over for grilled burgers for lunch. After a quick stop by the grocery store to grab the necessities and we headed home to pick up the house a bit. She arrived long before I had made a dent in the cleaning, but I had a nice little flower arrangement put together. :)
After lunch, Elizabeth and I finished the shawl that was on the loom. Mom left around 4:30 (and got lost trying to go a different route) to attend another family member's birthday party. Elizabeth left shortly after that for her evening out. She works with a guy in a rock band and he has been after her for months to go to one of his concerts, so she asked a long-time friend and former co-worker to attend with her. She arrived home at 1:45 AM--WAAAAY later than her usual bedtime! :)
Since Mom was here all afternoon Ornery didn't get any more work done on the floor. He also fought a headache all day so even after she left he wasn't eager to get back to work. We ended up reading for a while and going to bed early.
Sunday Ornery got almost all the way to the bedroom door with the flooring before he was too tired and making mistakes. He will still need to take the toilet out and figure out just where to end in the doorway, but it was great progress! Elizabeth started a new shawl on the loom--black and red--and I weeded out the clothes in my closet that no longer (or never really did) fit and did some laundry. It was not our usual productive weekend.
